Job Title: KAFMC Maintenance Officer I

Position Location: Ebeye, Kwajalein Atoll Fish Market Center (KAFMC)
Duration: Two-year contract with a 6-month probationary period, with the possibility of extension subject to performance evaluation. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Maintenance Officer I (1 position) at KAFMC. Full time (48 hours per week)
Purpose: The Maintenance Officer is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the Kwajalein Atoll Fish Market Center (KAFMC) facility, equipment, and community fishing boats. The role requires physical stamina, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage multiple task, including emergency repairs and routine maintenance.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform daily maintenance to ensure all facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition, with a focus on timely resolution of maintenance issues.
- Maintain a schedule for preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Report to the Operation Manager and Chief Maintenance, coordinating maintenance schedules and tracking job completion times.
- Assist in marketing, processing, and value-adding activities related to fish products when maintenance task are complete.
- Be flexible and available for emergency situations as needed.
Education/Experiences:
- Candidates should be possess relevant certificates or 5 years of general maintenance experience.
- Essential skills include equipment maintenance, effective communications, troubleshooting, time management, and quality control analysis.
- Proficiency in English and Marshallese is required, along with personal attributes such as honesty, respectfulness, and cultural sensitivity.
- Experience in troubleshooting facility equipment, carpentry, and following equipment, carpentry, and following blueprints is necessary.
