Job Opening: Procurement & Compliance Officer

Position Location: MIMRA Delap, Majuro Atoll
Duration: Two-year contract with a 6-month probationary period, with the possibility of extension subject to performance evaluation.
Purpose: MIMRA is seeking a highly organized Procurement & Compliance Officer to oversee the acquisition of goods, works, and services. This dual-purpose role ensures all spending aligns with RMI laws and donor regulations while managing vital land lease negotiations and documentation for MIMRA’s regional fish bases.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
- Procurement: Ensure all departmental spending follows the RMI Procurement Act and donor-specific regulations.
- Compliance: Coordinate with landowners regarding lease payments and manage a centralized database of active leases.
- Financial Support: Assist with budget preparation, asset tagging, and preparing for annual audits.
- Education & Experience
- A BSc degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Or at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience
Skills
- Role-Specific Experience: Previous work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer, or a similar professional role.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) and Advanced MS Excel, specifically for creating spreadsheets and using financial functions.
